Jacob conducts research and projects to help build the international regime complex for responsible research and development in emerging tech.

Previously, Jacob was a Research Fellow at the Stanford Existential Risks Initiative, and a Research Assistant at Columbia University analyzing the political economy of Chinese AI development.

Jacob holds a degree in History and French from the University of Cambridge, with a year spent studying Economics & Public Policy at Sciences Po. Jacob’s research interests include AI governance, standard-setting, and China-West relations. He speaks English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
